Lake was tasked with communicating the benefits of the Reach Planner, one of YouTube’s advertising tools designed for marketers. Inspired by trends and tropes from the YouTube platform, this film uses home science experiments to tell a playful and functional message.

Summer

The most challenging aspect of this project is that it was produced during COVID 19 shutdown, making sourcing and manufacturing quite difficult. In the DIY spirit of YouTube creators, I decided to clear out my living room so that I could build sets and props. I will not miss carrying 4x8 flats up and down seven flights of stairs by myself.

Science experiments are not part of my typical work routine, so I had to spend quite a bit of time tinkering with ingredient ratios on my roof to ensure that I would be able to get consistent reactions on set. This particular reaction happens so fast that it heats up to 200° Celsius.
